Background

The client had a set of “Ways of Working” documents that had been in development over several years. They were a series of long, cumbersome and text heavy documents describing key marketing and market research processes. Each process had been covered in a 50-page document with a stack of appendices.

Challenge

Clear communications was needed, with succinct top level content that was clear but comprehensive enough to guide the marketers in their job related activities.

Solution

We created a new online system to guide users through the ‘Ways of Working’ and we rewrote the content for a set of 15 processes.

Each process was explained in a 2-3 page document –which was sacrosanct and was not to change. Processes were supported by engaging examples that added depth and best practice. Each process had tool templates to help align the process documentation with the actual doing. Each process was cleverly designed to make sure it was clear, engaging and memorable to the user.

Impact

The new set of processes has been endorsed by senior management as the way they want business conducted. They feature on websites and workshops and are presently under consideration to be adopted and adapted in other parts of the organisation.
